- 25% of women will suffer physical abuse during their lifetime
- For Every Dollar a Man earns, a woman earns only 77 cents.
- While 7 in 10 Americans are pro-choice, only:
4 in 10 members of the U.S. Congress are pro-choice
3 in 10 governors are pro-choice
1 in 10 states have both a pro-choice House and Senate
It is time for women and those who love us to stand up and make our voices heard. That’s why there’s a new political party, formed this July, that you should know about: the Women’s Equality Party.
If you and 50,000 other New Yorkers cast your votes for Governor on the WEP line on Election Day, we will have formed the only Women’s Equality Party in the nation.
Have things gotten better for women? Of course. But better is not good enough.
Just last year, the New York State Senate refused to act on the Women’s Equality Act proposed by Governor Cuomo which would legally protect equal work, equal pay, equal choice, and equal rights for New York women.
It’s unacceptable that in 2014 this debate over women’s equality still exists. Help end it without changing who you vote for!
All you need to do is vote for your gubernatorial candidate on November 4th in the WEP line. That’s it. You don’t have to vote for someone else — just vote in a way that shows you’re paying attention to Women Equality and Women’s Right.
Ok. Soap box removed. Rant over. See you on election day. Thought if you do want one more thing? Watch this:
